The Howell Township Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles.
At approximately 10:28 AM on Tuesday, Howell Township Police officers responded to the area of State Highway 33 by West Renaissance Blvd.
Initial investigation yielded that a 2023 Mazda CX-5 was being operated by a 54-year’old female resident of Ontario, Canada and was traveling West bound on State Highway 33.
The operator of the Mazda CX-5 was negotiating a curve in the road when her vehicle crossed the centerline for an unknown reason and collided with a concrete mixer truck which was traveling East on State Highway 33.
This head-on/angular type collision caused significant disabling damage to both vehicles. Subsequent to the crash, the operator of the Mazda CX-5 became trapped in the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. The operator of the Mazda CX-5 was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and the passenger of the concrete mixer truck sustained minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
