UPDATE: Jackson Wildfire Spreads To 50 Acres; Multiple Homes and Businesses Still Threatened

Numerous homes and businesses in Jackson were evacuated in the area of East Commodore Blvd as a now 50-acre out-of-control wildfire spreads.

Fire officials said in a 9:45 pm update that the blaze remains at 0% containment, and crews are primarily working to safeguard structures as the next steps are being mapped out.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service warned on Tuesday morning that conditions were ripe for fires to quickly get out of control.

There are currently at least numerous fire companies at the scene, as well as state firefighting crews and officials.
