Powerful Storm to Bring Drenching Rain, Snow to New Jersey Monday

A gusty and drenching storm is expected to pummel New Jersey this afternoon through this evening, bringing flooding to areas near the shoreline and even snow to areas of higher elevation.

The storm is expected to begin affecting Ocean County at around 6:30 p.m., bringing heavy rain, gale-force gusts, and thunder and lightning to the Jersey Shore.

The rain is expected to begin tapering off early Tuesday morning, leading into a slightly warmer but still seasonally cold and gusty day, with a high of 54 degrees expected.

Due to the likelihood of strong winds, residents are urged to secure any outdoor possessions and bring in their trash cans if possible.
