A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the murder of Hershy Schwartz z”l, who was shot and killed in his car in a suspected robbery just days before his scheduled wedding in Lakewood.
Louis Antuwn Redmon from Jacksonville was arrested on Wednesday by the local sheriff department. Redmon has been charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, armed carjacking, and unlawful possession of weapons as a convicted felon. He is currently being held without bail.
Hershy z”l, 39, was discovered with fatal gunshot wounds outside his vehicle on the morning of Sunday, February 19.
He was engaged to Rosie Brustowsky of Lakewood, and they were set to get married less than two weeks later.
