The Lakewood Police Department responded early Shabbos morning to the area of 4th Street in Lakewood for reports of a shooting with victims.
Officers arriving at the scene found a gunshot victim lying on the floor, suffering from two bullet wounds.
EMS transported the man to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune in moderate condition.
Police are still searching for the suspect, who is described as a Hispanic male.
Lakewood Shomrim shabbos units were at the scene as well, assisting with setting up floodlights as law enforcement conducted their investigation.
