It was a busy weekend for Lakewood Shomrim, with members converging on multiple scenes around town requiring professional assistance.
In one incident, Shomrim members responded to Lake Carasaljo for reports of a partially submerged vehicle in the water. Responding members rapidly deployed a drone, confirming that there were no additional passengers in the vehicle aside from the driver, who had self-extricated.
In a second incident, Shomrim members responded to the area of Route 88 for reports of two males damaging a fence. Members responded, obtained the suspects’ license plate number, which was then transmitted to the police department.
In a third incident, Shomrim Shabbos Patrol members were called in for assistance in finding a missing individual. Following a brief search, the party was located and returned home safely.
Finally, during a routine patrol on Saturday night, Shomrim members observed a suspicious-looking party hiding behind vehicles. After confirming that the Lakewood Police Department had a pending search in the area, members kept eye on the male, who turned out to be a runaway. Members maintained their observation of him until family members could arrive and bring him safely back home.
