Judge Orders Lakewood Terrorist to Remain in Jail Until Trial

Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan has ordered that Dion Marsh, 27, of Manchester Township, shall remain detained in the Ocean County Jail pending trial.

On April 8th, Marsh went on a violent antisemitic spree in Lakewood and Jackson before being tracked down and arrested at his home late Friday night. In court appearances since his arrest, Marsh has been combative, cursing and yelling at the judge despite repeated attempts to make him stop.

He is being held on state charges of terrorism, four counts of attempted murder, carjacking, attempted carjacking, attempted kidnapping, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and six counts of bias intimidation. He is also facing separate federal terrorism charges.

Marsh faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. He has been lodged in the Ocean County Jail since his apprehension on April 8, 2022.  The detention hearing was handled by Assistant Prosecutor Victoria Esler.
