Jackson Township Settling Case with Jewish Jackson Trails Developer After Years of Fighting

After years of fighting against a Jewish developer who proposed building a large development called Jackson Trails consisting of over 400 homes, Jackson Township is throwing in the towel.

A draft agenda from the Jackson Township Council ahead of the Tuesday’s meeting shows that they plan to vote on a settlement between the township and the developer of Jackson Trails.

The developer, a religious Jew from Lakewood, has long asserted that he was being unfairly discriminated against by township officials who he said were blocking his proposed development because he is a Jew.

The applicant has since filed lawsuits in federal and state court, to which Jackson Township now appears to be seeking to rid themselves of with this settlement.

Publicly available details of the settlement are sparse at this time, but preliminary reports suggest that Jackson Trails will be allowed to add at least several houses as well as receive monetary reimbursement, under the settlement’s terms.
