Jackson PD Holds Ceremony Honoring Det. Sgt. Ted Kucowski Upon His Retirement [PHOTOS]

Members of the Jackson Police Department along with family and friends of Detective Sergeant Ted Kucowski #220 came out to headquarters on the afternoon of December 30th to congratulate him with a ceremony on his retirement from the agency.

Detective Sgt. Kucowski was hired in 1999 where he served in uniformed patrol.

During the course of his career DSgt. Kucowski served in the following capacities:
– 2001-2005 Jackson Police SRT
– 2001-2009 Ocean County Regional Sniper
– 2003 -2006 Detective Bureau
– 2006-2012 FBI Police Sniper School Guest Instructor
– 2006-2020 Ocean County Regional SWAT
– 2009-2020 Sniper Platoon Leader Ocean County Regional SWAT

Detective Sgt. Kucowski was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2018 where he served as a patrol sergeant until 2021. In 2021 DSgt. Kucowski transitioned back to the detective bureau to oversee the Special Enforcement Unit (SEU).

He is an accomplished competitive sniper, as well as a multi-time podium finisher in the Tactical Games – including winning 2nd place in the National Championship.

“The members of the Jackson Police Department wish Detective Sergeant Ted Kucowski and his family the best as they enter the next phase of life being retired,” the police department said in a statement.
