As part of a trial to expand work and play at the Lakewood Airport, the Lakewood Industrial Commission is working to provide sightseeing helicopter tours from the airport over chol hamoed.
The LIC is currently in talks with several helicopter companies that provide sightseeing tours to make the tours from Lakewood Airport possible. However, LIC officials tell Lakewood Alerts that the quotes given thus far have been prohibitive (several hundred dollars per person) and that it is continuing to search for practical solutions or alternatives.
The plan to provide sightseeing tours over chol hamoed is part of a broader plan to increase work and play both at the airport and in Lakewood, in general. The Lakewood Airport is already planning a massive expansion, with plans drawn up to install a new, state-of-the-art terminal including a kosher restaurant and a business center.
Additionally, expanded services at the airport is intended to attract more businesses to Lakewood, which already has a booming economic sector, most notably in the Cedarbridge Corporate Park.
