Google Can Now Tell You When Shabbos Starts and Ends

Google has released a new feature to its world-leading search engines: providing users with the exact time that Shabbos begins in the location they are in.

To get the time Shabbos begins, type into the Google searchbar “What time is Shabbos” or “When is Shabbos.”

The search engine will check your location and then show you the times for when Shabbos begins, ends, and the week’s parsha.

For instance, when asking the search engine when Shabbos is in the Lakewood area this week, it shows that Shabbos begins at 5:34 pm (hadlokas neiros), ends tomorrow at 6:34 pm (according to one shita), and the parsha being read Shabbos morning is Pekudei.
