Bus Carrying Students Catches Fire On Garden State Parkway [PHOTOS]

A school bus transporting 10 students caught fire on the Garden State Parkway in Upper Township, in southern New Jersey, on Wednesday afternoon.

When first responders arrived at the scene near milepost 20.6, they found the bus fully engulfed in flames. However, all students and the bus driver had already safely exited the bus. Additional firefighters were called for extra support, and crews spent about two hours on the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by fire marshals office and New Jersey state police.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and children were picked up by family members at the scene. The heroic actions of the bus driver, who quickly noticed a problem and ensured all students calmly followed her directions, are being praised by police and school officials.
