SHOPLIFTING
April 19, 2024, at 4 p.m., Officer Sara Brooks responded to a Shoplifting incident at El Oaxaqueno Supermarket. A description of the suspect was given by the store clerk/owner and video footage revealed Marco Rivera-Rodriguez, 26, from Lakewood, N.J. shoplifting. The officers located Rodriguez and were subsequently arrested for Shoplifting.
Officers Bryan Rodriguez, Joseph Dellavella, Joseph Soriano, and Jeffrey Emmons assisted in the investigation.

DWI
April 19, 2024, at 11 p.m., Officer Richard Uriarte responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 4th Street and Ridge Avenue. Carlos Salazar-Nieves, 31, from Lakewood, N.J. was arrested for DWI and charged with related offenses.
Officers Anthony Prisco, Leonardo Shimonovich, Matthew McAvoy, and Jacob Matthews assisted in the investigation.

WANTED PERSON
April 20, 2024, at 4:30 p.m., Officer Matthew McAvoy and Derek McAvoy were in the area of 1st., and Madison Avenue when they observed a female with an open alcoholic beverage. The officers requested dispatch to check for an active warrant for Jeannet Caja, 31, from Toms River, N.J., She returned with a positive response. Caja was subsequently arrested on an outstanding warrant.

DWI/MVA
April 20, 2024, at 3 a.m., Officer Gregory Cannon was sent to the scene of a car accident near Cedarbridge Avenue. Officer Kevin Seunath, who was off duty at the time reported this motor vehicle accident (MVA). Alfonso Morales-Cruz, 39, from Brick, N.J. was arrested for DWI and charged with related offenses.
Sergeant Kevin Martin, Officers William Bowers, Richard Uriarte, and Sean Capper assisted in the investigation.

WANTED PERSON
April 20, 2024, at 11 p.m., Officer Sean Capper responded to a male party lying in the roadway of Clifton Avenue and 4th St. Officers at the scene found David Figueroa-Sotomayor 63, from Toms River, N.J. asleep and he was advised he was not able to sleep in the roadway. Dispatch checked Sotomayor for an active warrant and he returned with a positive response and was subsequently arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Michael Sheehan assisted in the investigation.

DRUGS
April 23, 2024, at 10 p.m., Officer Conner Woods patrolled the area of 2nd Street and observed occupants in a vehicle who were known in the past to be involved in criminal activity. The officer checked for active warrants on Leslie Zapata, 36, from Toms River, N.J. Dispatch confirmed an active warrant, and the officer conducted a motor vehicle stop. During the arrest, drugs were found on Leslie’s person. Officer Woods also found drugs on the floorboard once Leslie was removed. The driver of the vehicle, Zachary Harris, 26, from Brick, N.J., claimed the drugs were his. Consequently, he was arrested for drug possession.
Officers Nadine Clarke, John Ganley, Robert Meyer Jr., and Joseph Dellavella assisted in the investigation.
