The township of Jackson is about to be slapped with yet another federal lawsuit alleging the violation of religious land use protections after the Zoning Board on Wednesday night denied an application for a shul on Whitesville Road.
Donna Jennings, the attorney for the applicants, told the Zoning Board that denial of the application would be in violation of the RLUIPA – the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act.
When the Zoning Board nevertheless denied it, Jennings had a simple message for them: “See you in court.”
Besides for being the attorney for this shul, Jennings is also the attorney in Agudath Israel’s lawsuit against Jackson Township alleging religious discrimination.
