JUST IN: U.S. Senate Passes Bill to Make Daylight Saving Time Permanent

The U.S. Senate minutes ago unanimously passed the Sunshine Protection Act, which would make Daylight Saving Time permanent.

The bill has been pushed for years by Republican Senator Marco Rubio and others.

The measure will now be sent to the House of Representatives, and if it passes, the days of changing our clocks twice a year will be a thing of the past.

New Jersey has already passed a bill to stop the changing of the clocks and make daylight saving time permanent. However, the state needs federal approval to make DST permanent.
