Popular Jackson Roller Skating Rink Shutting Down Permanently, Offers Free Admission

For years, the Jackson Skating Center on County Line Road was a go-to place for summer camps, with thousands of Lakewood children enjoying the thrill of a roller skate outing in the venue’s vintage confines.

While the skating center has fallen from its heyday in more recent years, it was still functioning – until now. The Jackson Skating Center announced on Facebook that it will be closing permanently on October 3rd.

No reason was given for the closure, though the skating center had been, like many other businesses, hard-hit by the Covid-19 pandemic and resulting social restrictions.

There is one silver lining: on Wednesday, September 21st, admission to the skating rink will be free. You can rent skates there for $5 or bring your own skates for a fully free skating experience.
