Purim Safety Message From Lakewood Police Chief Greg Meyer

Lakewood’s Police Chief Gregory Meyer has issued a message urging everyone to remain safe over Purim.

He strongly suggests that residents should try to shop early on Sunday and Monday and expect some delays around town because of the volume of traffic out and about.

People should also be mindful of cars making sudden stops and watch for pedestrians walking along the roadways.

Additionally, parents should not let their children use illegal out-of-state purchased fireworks, as they can cause injuries as well as start fires.

Finally, if anyone has had anything to drink, they should not be operating a vehicle. Instead, call someone for a ride.

Chief Meyer said, “We will be having
extra officers on patrol to keep everyone
safe and sound. The men and women of
the Lakewood Police Department hope
you all have a safe and enjoyable holiday.”

Chief Meyer wishes all Lakewood
residents a safe and happy Purim.
