Young Cyclist Hit by Car in West Gate; Hospitalized with Leg Injury

A child riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle on Northcrest Place in Lakewood’s West Gate neighborhood early Monday evening.

The incident occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m., when the child was hit by a passing vehicle under still-unclear circumstances. Hatzolah of Central Jersey responded immediately to the scene, providing initial care for a leg injury sustained in the collision.

The child was stabilized on site before being transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Sources say the injury does not appear to be life-threatening.

Lakewood Police are investigating the incident to determine the cause and any contributing factors.
