Woman Pleads Guilty In Murder Of Toms River Resident Found Dismembered In Jackson

Elizabeth Mascarelli, 29, of Seaside Heights, pleaded guilty on Monday to aggravated manslaughter in the killing of 56-year-old Kerry Rollason, whose dismembered remains were discovered in July. Ocean County Prosecutor Brad Billhimer announced that prosecutors will seek a 25-year prison sentence under the No Early Release Act.

The investigation began after Rollason’s body was identified following a search of a Jackson Township property, where authorities found black bags containing body parts, a hatchet, and other evidence. Rollason, the owner of a Ravenwood Drive residence in Toms River, had suffered gunshot wounds and blunt force trauma.

Mascarelli, along with accomplices, helped dismember and dispose of the body. She was initially charged with murder and other offenses, but the plea agreement was approved by the victim’s family.

Co-defendants Danielle Bolstad, Jared Krysiak, and Jared Palumbo still face charges. Sentencing is set for January 31, 2025.
