A tragic accident claimed the life of a 45-year-old woman Monday morning when her vehicle veered off Route 88 and struck a tree, Brick police reported.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:35 a.m. near the Surfside Efficiencies apartment complex on the 2200 block of Route 88. Authorities identified the driver as Dawn Giordano of Point Pleasant Borough.
According to police, Giordano lost control of her vehicle before leaving the roadway and colliding with the tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by Brick police, who have not yet disclosed additional details regarding the cause of the crash.
