A woman is in critical condition following a violent crash Sunday morning in which her vehicle struck a building along Squankum Road in Howell, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday.
The crash was reported at 9:52 a.m. near Oak Glen Road. According to investigators, the woman—whose name has not been released—was driving southbound when her vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway. Authorities said she drove over a concrete median island, into a parking lot, and then into the side of a business.

The driver suffered multiple injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. No charges or summonses have been issued at this time.
