Water Pressure Drops and Discoloration Expected During Hydrant Flushing in Manchester

Manchester Township will be flushing fire hydrants throughout October and November, according to an announcement from the Department of Utilities. The hydrants will be flushed systematically in the Eastern and Western service areas.

Residents will be notified when flushing begins in their area, which will occur both during the day and at night. During the flushing process, water pressure may decrease, and residents could experience discolored water.

The discoloration is caused by silt being stirred up, and officials advise residents to run their cold water taps until the water clears.

Residents with questions can contact the Manchester Township Water Utilities Plant at 732-914-1200.
