WATCH: Shomrim Surveillance Helps Lead Police to Arrest in Lakewood Vehicle Theft Spree

Shomrim volunteers helped lead to the arrest of a suspected car burglar on Sunday after responding to multiple reports of an individual stealing from vehicles and attempting to enter private property.

According to Shomrim, members quickly located the suspect, while the group’s Aviation Unit provided aerial support and captured footage of the individual allegedly committing several crimes. Volunteers continued gathering surveillance video throughout the investigation, documenting thefts in multiple areas across town.

Shomrim said the compiled evidence was turned over to local police as part of a comprehensive case package. Law enforcement officials subsequently arrested the suspect, who now faces multiple charges.

Shomrim thanked its volunteers and law enforcement partners, noting that coordinated community response played a key role in identifying the suspect and bringing the case to a swift resolution.
