WATCH: Following Antisemitism Hearing, Jewish NJ Sen. O’Scanlon Puts On Tefillin For First Time

Lawmakers grilled Rutgers University President Jonathon Holloway on Thursday over the university’s caving to the demands of anti-Israel protestors and over Jewish students being harassed, stalked, and threatened on Rutgers’ campus.

Among those questioning Holloway was New Jersey Sen. Declan O’Scanlon. Following the hearing, O’Scanlon, who is halachically Jewish, did something he had never done before in his life: put on tefillin!

O’Scanlon was offered the opportunity by Rabbi Baruch Goodman of Chabad of Rutgers, and he happily accepted.
