WATCH: 8 Firefighters Injured After Two Firetrucks Collide While Responding to Call

Eight firefighters were injured in Paterson when two firetrucks rushing to a blaze collided, with one of the emergency vehicles then crashing into a supermarket.

The Paterson Fire Department said the incident occurred at about 6 pm on Saturday as the trucks were heading to a fire at an e-bike shop.

“We have eight firefighters who are injured, one who is pretty severely injured, so we ask that people pray for that individual to make a full and speedy recovery,” Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh said.

Specific information about the condition of the injured firefighters were not released, though Paterson officials said the e-bike shop sustained severe damage to its first floor.
