A planned pro-Palestinian rally at Jackson’s Veterans Memorial Gardens on Lanes Mill Road quickly turned into more of a pro-Israel rally after just a handful of keffiyeh-wearing protestors showed up, and larger numbers of pro-Israel demonstrators arrived.
The pro-Palestinian activists’ chants were all but drowned out by “Am Yisroel Chai” and other songs being sung by the pro-Israel demonstrators.
A pro-Israel pilot also swooped low over the opposing demonstrations, his plane covered in pro-Israel messages.
A heavy police presence ensured the protest and counterprotest remained peaceful.
