The Lakewood Fire Department responded to Ateres Yeshaya on County Line Road in Lakewood Tuesday morning for reports of smoke billowing out of the building.
Firefighters arriving at the scene initially called in a structure fire, but it was quickly determined that the fire was simply grease that had ignited when an oven was turned on.
The situation was quickly resolved and all normal routines at the shul have restarted.
