A vehicle caught fire at the Exxon located at 1444 Ocean Avenue on the corner of the 88 and Chambers Bridge Road, as fuel was being pumped into it.
The car quickly became engulfed in flames and emergency measures were taken to stop the flow of gas to the vehicle and to ensure that no additional gasoline would catch fire.
Firefighters from Lakewood and Brick rushed to the scene and managed to knock down the blaze before further damage could be incurred.
