Verizon Outage Causing Phone Disruptions Across New Jersey And Beyond

Verizon Wireless customers across the tri-state area and other parts of the country are experiencing widespread service disruptions on Monday, with reports of outages affecting the ability to make and receive phone calls. The outages were reported nationwide, impacting major cities and regions.

According to Downdetector.com, issues began around 9:30 a.m. EST, with customers across New York City, Philadelphia, and New Jersey noticing service problems. Approximately 1,700 customers in New York City, more than 300 in Philadelphia, and various pockets across New Jersey reported difficulties with their wireless service.

Verizon confirmed the outage and said they were working to resolve the issue. “We are aware of an issue impacting service for some customers,” Verizon spokesperson Ilya Hemlin told USA Today. “Our engineers are engaged, and we are working quickly to solve the issue.”

The service disruptions were not confined to the tri-state area. Downdetector.com showed widespread outages in cities across the country, including Chicago, Phoenix, Denver, Indianapolis, Seattle, Omaha, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, and Los Angeles, with many customers reporting problems throughout the morning.

Verizon has not yet provided a timeline for when full service will be fully restored.
