Updated Income Guidelines for NJ FamilyCare Released

The 2023 income limits for NJ FamilyCare (Medicaid) eligibility have been released. The new income chart is below.

Eligibility Unwinding

Since March of 2020, NJ FamilyCare has followed special rules that have allowed most members to keep their health coverage, even if they no longer qualified – for example, if their income was too high. NJ FamilyCare is going to start re-determining members’ eligibility on April 1, 2023. This process will go from April 1, 2023, until June 1, 2024. If you are active on NJ FamilyCare, you should expect to renew your coverage once a year from now on. It is important to stay on top of your mail and respond to anything you receive.

If you no longer qualify for NJ FamilyCare, you may be eligible for subsidized health coverage through GetCoveredNJ, the official health insurance marketplace of New Jersey. Contact the LRRC for assistance with this process as soon as you receive a termination letter.

For any questions, you can schedule an appointment with an LRRC caseworker by calling 732-523-1789 or visiting us during our walk-in hours.
