Tyler O’Brien, Colin Geraghty Sworn In as New Manchester Police Officers

The Manchester Township Police Department has added two new patrolmen to its force following their swearing-in at the August 11, 2025, Township Council meeting.

Patrolman Tyler O’Brien, 29, began his law enforcement career in 2018 with the Seaside Park Police Department. After graduating from the academy in 2019 as a Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO) and receiving the High Marksmanship Award, he went on to serve in Seaside Park and later with the Deal Police Department. In 2021, O’Brien joined the Pemberton Borough Police Department, where he was recognized for his dependability and work ethic.

Patrolman Colin Geraghty, 27, started his career in 2019 as a Class I SLEO with the Beach Haven Police Department, serving three summers and volunteering with the Police Athletic League. In 2022, he attended the Ocean County Police Academy, graduating as a Class II officer and earning a Lifesaving Award. Later that year, he became a full-time officer with the Hightstown Police Department, serving there for nearly three years.

Police Chief Antonio Ellis said the department looks forward to the officers’ contributions as they begin their assignments in Manchester. Both officers will now enter the department’s Field Training and Evaluation Program, where they will be mentored by senior officers.
