Authorities are investigating two suspected arson incidents that occurred this week at the shul on 5th Street led by BMG posek Rav Yaakov Forchheimer, with Lakewood Alerts sources indicating that officials are aware of the suspect’s identity but have yet to make an arrest.
The first fire broke out Monday night, prompting a quick response from the Lakewood Fire Department, which contained and extinguished the flames before significant damage could occur. A nearly identical scene unfolded Wednesday night, when firefighters were again called to the shul around 8:15 p.m. to put out another fire.
It remains unclear whether the individual suspected of setting the fires had intentions of causing serious damage to the shul or if the incidents were driven by pyromania.
The Lakewood Police Department has not responded to requests for comment or clarification regarding the ongoing investigation.
If authorities know who it is. It’s best to get him off the streets before he harms someone.

This will undoubtedly become clear if and when the arsonist’s identity is made public.
Based on the language, I would venture to guess we are talking about a minor. In that case it is more likely pyromania/trying to copy the cool kids and not the intention to cause damage.
Rabbi Forcheimer spoke in his shul and explained that it seems there are people who don’t like him who burned his office.
