TUESDAY: Assemblyman Avi Schnall to Host Utility Assistance Event in Lakewood

Residents struggling to keep up with their utility bills will have an opportunity to receive free assistance at a Utility Assistance Event hosted by Assemblyman Avi Schnall on Tuesday, July 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Strand Theater, 400 Clifton Avenue, Lakewood.

Representatives from Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), New Jersey Natural Gas, New Jersey American Water, SHARES, and the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) will be on hand to help residents learn about utility assistance programs they may qualify for and provide on-site application assistance.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring:

  • Their most recent utility bill
  • A photo ID or Social Security cards for all household members
  • Financial documents for income verification
  • Any utility disconnection notice, if applicable
  • Proof of enrollment in other assistance programs, if available

No appointment is necessary, and all eligible residents are welcome to attend.
