TSA Extending Face Masks on Planes, Public Transportation until April 18

The Transportation Safety Administration announced Thursday that it will be extending the current face mask mandate on planes and other forms of public transportation until April 18.

The CDC said it will “work with government agencies to help inform a revised policy framework for when, and under what circumstances, masks should be required in the public transportation corridor.”

“This revised framework will be based on the COVID-19 community levels, risk of new variants, national data, and the latest science. We will communicate and updates publicly if and/or when they change.”

The current mask mandate was set to expire on March 18th, but the TSA signaled several weeks ago that it planned to extend it, which they have now done.
