Trio Indicted In Connection With June Attempted Murder In Jackson

Three individuals have been indicted in connection with a June 27 shooting incident in Jackson Township.

Michael Vulpis, 26, of Freehold Borough, faces charges including Attempted Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and weapons offenses. Noah Phelps, 24, of Monroe Township, was indicted for Attempted Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder. Glenn Franzson, 32, of Jackson Township, faces charges including Conspiracy to Commit Witness Tampering, weapons offenses, and drug possession.

The incident occurred when a 27-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to the face while sitting in a parked vehicle on Larsen Road. Responding officers found the victim, who was treated and released from Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Jackson Township Police, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Vulpis shot the victim, while Phelps was identified as the second assailant. Franzson allegedly conspired with Vulpis to tamper with the victim’s testimony.

Vulpis and Phelps were taken into custody in July and August, respectively. Franzson was charged after a search warrant yielded illegal drugs and a ghost gun.
