Lakewood Alerts regrets to inform you of the tragic petira of Mrs. Gittel Zlata Bernstein A”H, wife of Reb Ephraim Bernstein. She was 73 years old.
Mrs. Bernstein was nifteres after succumbing to the devastating injuries she sustained when she was struck by a vehicle while crossing Route 9 near Evergreen Plaza in Lakewood on the night of March 23, 2025.
At the time of the accident, Hatzolah paramedics found Mrs. Bernstein unresponsive and immediately began lifesaving efforts, including CPR, before transporting her in extremely critical condition to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. She remained in recovery for many months but, tragically, never fully recovered from her injuries.
The Levaya will take place on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel, 613 Ramsey Avenue, Lakewood. The kevurah will follow in Elmont, New York.
