TRAGEDY: Lakewood Shomrim Member Loses Brother, Sister-in-Law, Niece in Devastating Fire

A devastating fire in Monroe, NY, early Thursday morning tragically took the lives of 7-year-old Miriam Goldstein a”h, Sarah Goldstein a”h, and Kalman Goldstein z”l.

Kalman z”l is the brother of Lakewood Shomrim volunteer unit Lipa Goldstein #171.

The Monroe Joint Fire District and Monroe Police Department responded to a home on Highland Avenue in Monroe at 12:55 a.m. for a reported house fire.

Firefighters and police officers at the scene were informed that a family was believed to be inside, but they were unable to attempt a rescue due to the intensity of the flames.

Firefighters from Monroe and nearby fire districts extinguished the fire as quickly as they could but tragically, after entering the home, they discovered that a frum couple and their seven-year-old daughter had perished in the blaze.

The levaya is scheduled to take place at 5 PM in Passaic outside the Agudah, with kevurah in Deans, New Jersey.
