Toms River Police List 10 Recent Vehicle Burglaries, Urge Residents To Be Proactive

The Toms River Police Department has released a summary of recent car burglaries that have taken place in the municipality, and is urging residents to be proactive about safeguarding their vehicles and possessions inside of them:

ATTENTION: Please be aware of a recent rash of vehicle burglaries.
LOCK YOUR DOORS at all times and keep valuables out of sight help to prevent your vehicle or house from being illegally entered.

RECENT CRIMES:
Ridgeview Court: Cash/wallet removed from Hyundai Elantra and Nissan Maxima.
Cypress Point Drive: Pocketbook removed from white Jeep reported to be locked.
Sequoia Circle: Unlocked GMC Sierra Pickup entered but no items noticed missing.
Black Birch Court: Unlocked Dodge 150 Pickup entered but no items noticed missing.
Indian Hill Road: Vehicle theft; tan Chevy Suburban.
Golden Hemlock Way: Wallet containing credit cards and ID removed from unlocked GMC Yukon.
Ridgeview Court: Sunglasses removed from unlocked Dodge Durango and Mazda CX5.
White Spruce Drive: Jacket and spare FOB removed from White Ford F150 which was reported to be locked.
Firestone Road: Wallet and headphones removed from unlocked Chevy Trailblazer.
Indian Hill Road: Surveillance camera observed unknown suspect attempted door handle of Dodge Charger in driveway: vehicle was locked and suspect ran away.
