Just one week after two young children were killed in a tragic Barnegat Bay boating accident, another deadly crash has claimed the life of a boater during one of the busiest weekends of the summer.
The latest crash occurred Saturday night in the Toms River section of Barnegat Bay, when a motorboat carrying five people reportedly struck a channel marker at a high rate of speed. One person was pronounced dead, while at least three others were injured, including two who sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to area trauma centers. Authorities have not yet released the identities or ages of those involved.
The incident came as thousands of boaters were on the water for the annual FloatShoalla gathering at Tices Shoal, one of the Jersey Shore’s largest boating events. Multiple emergency agencies responded to the scene to assist the victims.
The tragedy follows last Sunday’s fatal boating crash, in which two young children were killed after their family’s boat struck a channel marker in Barnegat Bay. That incident remains under investigation.
Officials are once again urging boaters to operate responsibly, maintain safe speeds, wear life jackets, and never operate a vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The cause of Saturday night’s crash remains under investigation.
Chevra Kadisha services weren’t needed in this tragic incident.

We should still ask ourseves, when we read about this targedy, did we assume “Chevra Kaddisha services were not needed”, or were we nervous?
Assuming we were, (I was) that shows that we have a problem that needs to be addressed.
I’m not clear what you’re saying. They’re re writing that beause people sometimes ask.
Its a code word to find out if it was from Unzera.
Myn point was that we obviously didn’t assume it was not. We wouldn’t be shocked if v some locals did this.
That means we have a problem.
