Today marks the third anniversary of the tragic death of Lakewood Police Officer Nicklas Shimonovich.
Officer Shimonovich was involved in an off duty motorcycle accident in Jackson, in which he sustained life threatening injuries. He was transported to the Monmouth Medical Southern Campus, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
He was just 23 years old.
