The New Jersey Office of the Attorney General Civil Rights Division will be holding a presentation to educate Lakewood residents about discuss anti-Semitic bias and discrimination – and what to do about it, today, Thursday, March 16th, at the Strand Theater on the corner of 4th and Clifton.
The presentation, arranged by Agudath Israel’s New Jersey office and BMG’s Office of Governmental Affairs, will include information pertaining to attendees’ rights and protections under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination and will walk residents through the simple process of filing a complaint through the New Jersey Bias Investigation Access System (NJ-BIAS).
Attendees will also receive education and guidance about what to do when confronted with anti-Semitic bias, discrimination, and intimidation, with officials available to answer attendees’ questions following the presentations.
“This presentation is important for everyone, and particularly those moving into new areas, where knowing your rights is crucial to being able to live your life with religious freedom and without hate and discrimination,” Agudah NJ Director Rabbi Avi Schnall said.
