This Wednesday, Agudath Israel is presenting a unique “Dina D’Malchusa” seminar at the Lakewood High School, aimed at educating the Orthodox Jewish community on the importance of handling legal matters responsibly. Scheduled for October 30th from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., the event will feature distinguished speakers including prominent rabbanim and legal professionals.
Organized by KnowUs.org, a division of Agudath Israel of America, the seminar emphasizes the need for awareness of legal obligations in professional and community life. The theme, “‘I didn’t know’ is not an excuse,” underscores the importance of preemptively understanding legal requirements to avoid future complications.
Speakers include:
- Rav Elya Brudny, member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah and Rosh Yeshiva of Mirrer Yeshiva.
- Rav Chaim Meir Roth, Rav of Khal Sterling Forest-Sefard.
- Rabbi Aaron Lipskar, CEO of The Aleph Institute, known for his work in legal and social support for Jewish individuals involved with the justice system.
- Mr. Benjamin Brafman, a leading criminal defense attorney with extensive experience in high-profile cases.
Moderated by Mr. Shloime Werdiger, Chairman of Agudath Israel of America’s Board of Trustees, the seminar aims to promote adherence to both civil law and Torah values, with an open invitation to community members, employees, business owners, and anyone interested in making a Kiddush Hashem in the workplace and beyond.
