Thousands Of Families Begin Receiving Increased School Transportation Aid-In-Lieu Checks

Thousands of families across Jackson, Toms River, Manchester, Howell, Brick – and some in Lakewood – have begun receiving school transportation aid-in-lieu checks for the 2024 school year.

As previously reported, the checks this year are $1,165 per child. That’s an increase of more than $70 per child than last year – one of the final statewide achievements Avi Schnall accomplished before being elected to the Assembly.

The checks are distributed twice, half of the total amount disbursed in late January/early February, and the other half in July.
