Thieves Steal Hundreds Of Thousands In Jewelry From Store In Ocean County Mall

Toms River Police officers were dispatched this morning to Venzio Jewelers in the Ocean County Mall regarding a burglary and theft. Business representatives reported between 8:00 pm Thursday night and 10:00 am Friday morning, unknown suspect(s) entered their store which is located inside the Ocean County Mall.

Entry was made into the rear office area by cutting a hole in the wall of an adjacent empty store. The suspect(s) cut the phone and alarm cables and apparently used a torch to enter a large safe and remove approximately $1 million dollars’ worth of jewelry. The scene was processed by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department C.S.I. Division.
