Local residents may notice drone activity in the area of Perrineville Road in Jackson tomorrow, as police drone operators conduct training exercises throughout the day.
The training is part of the Jackson police department’s ongoing efforts to enhance its use of drone technology for various law enforcement purposes, including search operations, accident reconstruction, aerial photography, and general surveillance training.
Officials issued an alert in advance to prevent any confusion or concern among residents who may notice the drones and mistake the activity for suspicious behavior.
“We occasionally receive calls from residents who are unsure about the purpose of drone flights in the area,” the department said in a statement. “This training is part of our routine operations, and we want to reassure the public that there is no cause for alarm.”
As the use of drones becomes more common in police work, residents can expect to see them used more frequently in a range of public safety situations. The department hopes that by keeping the community informed, it can foster understanding and reduce unnecessary worry.
For any questions or concerns, residents are encouraged to contact the local police department directly.
