TEHILLIM: Leading Lakewood Rav Injured in Route 9 Crash in Lakewood

A serious motor vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon has left multiple people injured, including a prominent Lakewood rav who was rushed to the hospital by Hatzolah paramedics, but b’chasdei hashem discharged a short time later.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Route 9 and 7th Street, when a vehicle involved in the initial accident continued on and crashed into a gate at 7th Street and Madison Avenue. Emergency responders reported multiple injuries at the scene, one of them serious.

Hatzolah paramedics arrived quickly and began treating the injured, including Rav Shmuel Yissachar ben Leah, a widely respected rov and talmid chochom in Lakewood. He was transported by Hatzolah to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he underwent treatment and observation.
