Suicidal Man Rescued After Threatening To Jump Off Toms River Hospital’s Roof

At approximately 8:47 AM on Monday, the Toms River Police Department responded to a report of a missing suicidal male. The investigation led police to Community Medical Center.

At approximately 09:40 am, the male was located standing on the ledge of the top floor of the parking garage at Community Medical Center threatening to jump off.

Negotiators from the Toms River Police Department Detective Bureau responded. After approximately 3 hours of negotiating with the male, he came down and was taken for a mental health evaluation.

In addition to the Toms River Police Department, the following agencies responded and assisted at the scene: Toms River Fire Department, Neptune Township Emergency Management (provided jump air bag), Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, and Community Medical Center Security.
