“Smile, You’ve Been Caught”: Kosher2Go in Lakewood Publicly Shames Alleged Shoplifters

A Lakewood convenience store is taking an unconventional — and highly visible — approach to curbing retail theft.

Kosher2Go, located on County Line Road, has begun posting printed screenshots of surveillance footage on its front entrance showing individuals allegedly caught shoplifting inside the store. The display, taped directly to the glass doors, offers a blunt warning to customers that theft will no longer be handled quietly.

The tactic reflects a growing frustration among small retailers facing rising theft, particularly at convenience stores where items are easily concealed and staffing is limited.

The store has not publicly identified any individuals by name, nor disclosed whether police reports were filed in connection with the incidents shown.
