In response to “increasing incidents of unruly and inappropriate behavior” in the entertainment industry, Six Flags Great Adventure has implemented a new chaperone policy for children 15 years and under.
Starting September 7, minors must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years old to enter and remain in the park after 5 p.m. daily. Chaperones will be required to show a valid government-issued photo ID and can supervise up to 10 guests ages 15 and younger per day.
“We’ve implemented this policy as a proactive measure,” the park’s website states.
Chaperones are expected to stay with their group, be available by phone, and ensure their party’s safety during their visit. Unaccompanied minors may be ejected from the park.
The policy applies to all ticketholders, and guests 16 years and older may also be asked to show proof of age. Those unable to provide identification may be denied entry.
