I don’t want to say you shouldn’t go, but I know that in America excellent people have developed. Not only in yiras Shamayim, but yedios too. And they’re teachers today. They’re prominent teachers. And they gained all their knowledge in America.
And therefore, the American Torah institutions offer not only for boys excellent opportunities to become a gadol ba’Torah right here – right here! – but the girls can also gain all the things they need, right here in America.

There are approximately six seminaries in the US today for girls and combined, they can accommodate approximately 800 girls. Every single year, more than 3500 girls graduate BY HS’s in the US and Canada. Where should they all go?
Opening a seminary in the US is a fools errand. It’s difficult enough to find decent teachers in High School, let alone seminary. The costs for US seminaries is not much less than for the EY seminaries and the experience in EY is far more valuable.
I have no horse in this race. My girls are married and I don’t care what they do, but this article is very outdated and unreflective of the reality on the ground.
